I began to make art seriously around 1966 while visiting my dad in his studio in the east Village of New York City. At first I explored drawing and illustration, but over the years I explored sewing, and made many garments that i wore for years. I made sandals, copying the products of a local sandal maker. In high school I explored making jewelry and building musical instruments. I had always explored photography, but finally settled on animation as the subject to focus on in art school.

I made Halloween masks for my four kids, but they began to grow out of that phase and I did not. When my kids out grew Halloween I kept making masks but they were no longer related to Halloween. They became referetial to my exposure to the history of art.

I expected Donald Trump to drive down Fifth Avenue in New York, on his way to the inauguration, sticking his bare ass out the window (mooning the crowd) and giving the crowd the finger. That is what the backside of the sculpture represents.
